Can We Survive Climate Change?

The Following are the three resolutions passed by acclamation at a public meeting organised by the
Pacific Institute of Resource Management on the topic:
"CAN WE SURVIVE CLIMATE CHANGE?"
held at Victoria University of Wellington, April 4th2002.
Resolution 1:
...that this meeting endorses the government commitment to ratify the Kyoto
Protocol this year, as a practical and significant first step in reducing
greenhouse gas emissions;
Resolution 2:
...that this meeting calls on government and the wider community
to seek ways urgently of further reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and
mitigating their effects;
Resolution 3:
...that this meeting asks for a similar gathering in 6 months
to review progress and consider further steps to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions.
